    The Position

    Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

    Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. The Nevada Department of Transportation is seeking to fill a Management Analyst 4 located in Carson City. The incumbent in this position will serve as the Assistant Chief of the Financial Management Division. Duties will include supervision of budget staff as well as the supervision and oversight of the preparation of divisional and department budgets. The incumbent will update and maintain the comparative statement, and supervise forecasting, cashflow and countdown. Duties will also include conducting training presentations and preparation of training materials for the department. This position will also serve as the Human Resources liaison for the unit, develop and maintain desk manuals and ad hoc financial reporting. The incumbent will also be the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution Lead for Financial Management. Additionally, this Management Analyst 4 will complete other special projects as assigned.

    To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and six years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
