    Description:

    Jefferson County invites you to apply for the call center Associate Eligibility Specialist. This position provides you the opportunity to work for a county that's thrives on working collaboratively and overcoming challenges. The Associate Eligibility Specialist provides advanced level customer services and support to Human Services staff and clients.

    Schedule :

    This position will work remotely, four days a week from 7:00am - 5:30pm (Monday-Thursday). You will be asked to come on-site for required in-person meetings, training and occasional technical support.

    Compensation :

    Hiring Range: $22.00-$23.00 USD Hourly

    Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

    The Eligibility Specialist Associate is responsible for :

    • Initiatesnew applications for assistance .Reviewsapplicationsfor completeness.Performs data entry into CBMS to initiate application to prepare for Eligibility Specialists. Forward information to other program areas as needed.Schedulesappointments and assigns cases to specialists. Completesscreeningdocumentfor Family Medicaid only applicationstoaccurately assess whether all verifications have been received. Color codesall Family Medicaid only applications based on whether they are ready to be processed. Log all applicationsensuring accuracy.Make referrals to appropriate services and assistance available in the agency and community when appropriate .
    • Screenscustomersfor initial eligibility. Researches case files on audit list, locates case files,andreviewsfiles forrequiredinformation.Copiescase files, and communicateswithstaffto assist in file location and preparation. Prepares documents for mailing;downloads and scans case files for delivery to a variety of different state level agencies and county auditors; anddelivers physical case files within the agency after completion of audit. Prepares, pulls, and logs cases for internalqualityassurance. Directly assists auditliaison for all state and county level audits.
    • Assist in determining eligibility for needy newborns. Receives information from area hospitals and medical providers to document birth of children;reviewsinformation to ensure accuracy; entersdata into CBMS;andcommunicateswith Lead Workers to ensure case is processed correctly.
    • Transfer cases from other counties to the appropriate worker , monitors weekly reports, requeststhe creation of case files, communicateswith staff regarding case files.
    • Maintain case file storage, obtaining information from other agency databases which assists in eligibility determination (screen prints), copying, faxing, requesting files, date stamping all incoming paperwork from clients and providing receipts to verify paperwork was submitted . Requesting interpreter services. Gather confidential documentation and verification supplied by applicants and recipients of financial and medical assistance relevant to the initial and continuing eligibility. Verifiesoriginal documents for Medicaid and Colorado Works programs. Completesforms for EBT card requestsforcustomers to access their benefits.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Minim um Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent


    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Strongly preferred: One or more years of e xperience in determining eligibility in Medicaid and SNAP benefits utilizing the Colorado Benefits Management System.
    • Experience in customer service and de-escalation techniques.
    • Data entry experience in complex computer databases.

    • Proficiency in understanding and applying county, state, and federal regulations, while accurately inputting data into complex computer databases.
    • Strong focus on accuracy and detail when utilizing complex computer systems.
    • Excellent communication skills to guide customers through the system and clarify program requirements.
    • Strong organizational abilities and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
    • Capability to engage in difficult conversations with customers, particularly when outcomes are not favorable.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced Call Center environment with frequent changes to program rules and guidelines.
