The Office Assistant plays a crucial role as an integral part of the Cornerstone Center, which offers 20 units of bridge housing for individuals experiencing literal homelessness with moderate to severe service needs. The Center is staffed by a highly qualified team that delivers high-quality supportive services to a vulnerable population. This position is based in the newly renovated, secured Cornerstone Center and serves as the first point of contact representing the agency and assisting clients and service providers as they enter the facility.
Essential Functions;
- Maintains records, updates databases/spreadsheets and generate reports associated with work activities
- Greet and direct visitors, answer and direct calls, take messages, and handle routine inquiries
- Manage calendars, schedules and front desk coverage at OCC
- Submits GSA service requests and oversees fleet maintenance
- Monitors OCC water levels and notifies appropriate staff
- Tracks supply inventory and research cost-effective options
- Scans documents, including paper charts and TFS files
- Handles faxed record requests and monitors RightFax
- Creates fillable PDF forms and supports office workflows
- Prepares and formats correspondence, reports, forms, meeting notes and other documents, compiles, copies, sorts and files records of office activities

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - High school diploma or GED
- One year of administrative/office support experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Possess a high level of proficiency in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, the county intranet, NCFAST, Clarity, Teams and computer desktop navigation
- Previous administrative support experience in a Health and Human Services, Social Services, or non-profit organization
