A proactive and process-driven Safety Specialist is sought to join the City of Orlando’s Risk Management team. Integrates a diverse occupational health and safety management system into operational culture by developing, monitoring, and implementing new and existing health and safety OSHA and EPA-required training. May have lead responsibilities on team projects and perform incident investigations and analysis of safety and health trends.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
Preferences: Experience in municipal operations including water treatment plants, streets and stormwater operations, and refuse collection. Qualified CDL instructor. Qualified OSHA 500 / 501 instructor. Environmental regulation understanding.

- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
