    PHYS 323: QUANTUM PHYSICS
    • Position: Lecturer - Academic Year
    • Semester: Fall 2025
    • Day/Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
    • Modality: In-Person

    The Department of Physics at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2025 to teach PHYS 323: Quantum Physics.

    Course Description

    A survey of quanta based physical theories, and their experimental foundations and applications: quantum physics of atoms, molecules, nuclei, and electrons; introduction to condensed matter physics.

    Minimum qualifications:
    • A master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Physics and related fields
    • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

    Preferred qualifications:
    • A doctorate or equivalent in Physics and related fields
    • Experience teaching similar courses in 4-year universities
    • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.

    Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
    • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,008 per full-time month

    The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:
    • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month

    The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
