    Job Summary

    The Assistant Director for Constituent Relations is a key member of the Alumni Engagement team, serving to facilitate engagement and prospect building efforts. The Assistant Director will develop, coordinate, and implement engagement strategies that best fit our alumni interest, time, talent, and treasure in support of the university strategic initiatives. Responsible for identification, engagement, and cultivation of our alumni through targeted groups.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Oversee the identification, engagement and cultivation of alumni in order to encourage interest, involvement and support. Cultivate allies to identify key opportunities for alumni involvement.
    • Manage the Alumni Volunteers. Establish relationships that bring the knowledge and efforts of alumni, CSULB faculty, and students together, as well as fostering interaction and collaboration in mutually meaningful ways.
    • Alumni Identification, relationship building and prospecting.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to recruit, engage, and manage volunteers. Experience in building and supporting volunteer organizations. Experience effectively managing volunteers and aligning their support with institutional goals. Ability to plan and orchestrate multiple events and programs simultaneously. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Comprehensive fundraising campaign experience preferred.

    Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

    Education and Experience
    • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience required

    Physical Summary

    Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

    Compensation

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4,598 - $6,250 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,598 - $8,318 per month.

    Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.

    Time Base

    1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

    Duration of Appointment

    This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
