This position is remote and may be based in Illinois or a closely related region in the Midwest.This position may receive a location allowance, dependent on the new hire's location.The Role: The National Sales Manager markets, promotes, and sells the Las Vegas, Clark County, and the Las Vegas Convention Center as the premier business travel destination for meeting and event professionals. This position supports the mission through lead generation, regional account development, and client relationship building to create business opportunities for our building and mission partners.
What You’ll Accomplish: Keep in mind that this list is not all inclusive.
- Sales Lead Development: Solicit, facilitate, and distribute sales leads to Las Vegas and Clark County mission partners while working toward an annual goal of leads generated and converted for trade shows or room nights with the destination partners. Use strategic account development to identify, pursue, and maintain records of all key client decision-makers and influencers created through prospecting, referrals, networking events, etc.
- Mission Partners Relations: Develop and sustain professional relationships with hotel mission partners, meeting planners and agents through participation in industry events, trade shows, and production of customer development events. Understand varying hotel mission partner objectives and provide information to assist their decision-making process.
- Customer Relationship Building: Develop client relationships to increase the conversion ratio and solidify existing business to the destination. Maintain current knowledge of the destination, sales disciplines, industry trends, economic and product developments and other factors that may affect customers’ decision to utilize Las Vegas.
- Brand Representation: Develop and maintain a high profile for Las Vegas in assigned sales markets and geographical territories within budget and time parameters. Frequently travel domestically and internationally for events related to the position, i.e., tradeshows, sales calls, client development events, etc., that will result in lead generation and project management of such events.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain client information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database and other databases when applicable. Understand and record reasons for lost business. Prepare administrative documents and management responsibilities that support sales activities.
What We’re Looking For- Demonstrated consistent production success in convention sales
- Strong sales skills and knowledge of the sales process, including prospecting, cold calling, managing customer relationships, building and developing a market, and closing deals
- Proven ability to develop a regional market and produce results through increased qualified lead volume within an assigned territory
- Proven experience successfully creating and implementing a strategic business development plan
- Advanced time management skills with the ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
- Experience with Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems preferred
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Project management experience
- Ability to write reports, budgets, business correspondence, sales collateral, and procedure manuals, as needed
- Ability to listen, speak publicly, and effectively present information with clients, mission partners, vendors, management, and other ambassadors in a variety of formats
- Must be able to support and respect the various cultural and ethnic values, behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes of a diverse workplace
- Must be able to travel extensively or frequently when necessary
- Must be able to work outside of regular business hours
