  • Job Description

    Full-time position available with the City Planning Department, Project Administration Division located at 414 E.12th Street
    Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    Position will be in the Project Administration Division and will provide administrative and technical support to the department for CID projects, lien waiver committee and research and data analysis.
    • Provides analytical support, will create, analyze, disseminate and aid in the digital collection of stakeholder data necessary to aid in CID and economic development programs.
    • Works with elected officials, the development community, local neighborhood groups, civic organizations and residents to prepare data, administer grants and support CID activities.
    • Assesses trends related to land use, administering grants, managing contracts, creating and maintaining associated data, and communicating process approaches and findings to community members, city staff and elected officials.
    • Manages lien waiver committee, works with applicants through the application process and creates year end reports to the City Council.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited Master's degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, organizational psychology/development, project management, or geography; OR an accredited Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional experience in public or business administration, corporate/municipal finance, research, accounting, planning, project/program management or geographical information system analytics.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
