    The Position

    Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.

    The Division of Public and Behavioral Health is recruiting for a Personnel Analyst 2, located in Las Vegas. The Personnel Analyst 2 oversees Human Resource functions for the Division of Public & Behavioral Health (DPBH) Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) & Stein Facility. The incumbent will manage all HR related matters, to include payroll, ensuring that the HR department maintains compliance with relevant State and Federal Law, and State/Department/Division policies. This position supervises a Personnel Technician 3 and the SNAMHS/Stein Payroll staff. The incumbent provides consultation to all levels of management and employees to respond to and resolve diverse human resources issues; advises on federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures; participates in grievance resolution and a variety of corrective actions, including disciplinary actions; advises on employment benefits, rights, and protections including workers compensation, FMLA, ADA, Cat leave.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. This position may require up to 25% travel. This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. On October 31, 1864, President Lincoln proclaimed Nevada's admission to the Union as the 36th state. The State's first elected Governor, Henry Blasdel, took office on December 5, 1864.

    Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
