Examples of Duties- Directs the overall functions and project goals of scheduling group(s), and manages schedule planning, schedule building, and data collection systems
- Facilitates major and minor bus fleet moves with Fleet Management and Operations Maintenance
- Develops and implements policies, procedures, and processes
- Develops and transmits internal and external communications related to service issues
- Designs and coordinates systems usage training programs
- Identifies, monitors, and evaluates system performance, in alignment with Metro's strategic goals and all applicable rules and regulations
- Adjusts input and reporting requirements and training programs, as necessary
- Directs internal consulting activities, work process improvement, and performance measurement
- Represents Metro in working with vendors and other outside agencies
- Provides high level detailed reports and data to Fleet Management as related to bus/rail shake-up changes/requirements
- Oversees, monitors, and adheres to the department's/unit's budget, goals, and schedules in compliance with Metro-wide fiscal responsibility
- Oversees the implementation of changes included in the Operations budget as related to scheduling
- Communicates and implements safety rules, policies, and procedures in support of the agency's safety vision and goals; and maintains accountability for the safety performance of all assigned employees
- Complies with all California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) regulations and utilize approved safety equipment and personal protective gear including, but not limited to, respirators, eye, and hearing protective devices (HPD), if and when required

Minimum QualificationsA combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:
Education- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's Degree in a related field preferred
Experience- Five years of relevant management-level experience in public transit scheduling
Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
