    Position Description
    The Senior Vice President of the Division of Rural Affairs (SVP) reports to the President. In this capacity, the SVP will serve as the Director of the F. Marie Hall Institute for Rural and Community Health and the Director of the Institute for Telehealth and Digital Innovation.

    The SVP will advance the university's mission to improve health care access across rural Texas through strategic collaboration, data-informed innovation, and sustainable community engagement. With a uniquely integrated portfolio spanning rural health strategy, governmental relations, and stakeholder collaboration, the candidate for this position will bring a depth of experience that positions them to elevate TTUHSC's rural impact.

    Major/Essential Functions
    • Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight for the Division of Rural Affairs, the F. Marie Hall Institute for Rural and Community Health, and the Institute for Telehealth and Digital Innovation.
    • Establish, expand, and maintain a coordinated rural health network in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Identify, design, and evaluate innovative solutions to address rural health disparities, with emphasis on access and scalability.
    • Coordinate efforts across academic, clinical, research, and community units to support institutional priorities.
    • Represent the Division of Rural Affairs on the President's Cabinet and serve as a key advisor on rural health strategy.
    • Collaborate with state and federal partners, academic institutions, and healthcare providers to influence and implement rural health policy.
    • Guide the strategic development and operational direction of both institutes, ensuring alignment with TTUHSC's academic and community service missions.
    • Advance initiatives in rural workforce development, telehealth infrastructure, and interdisciplinary research.


    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in appropriate field relating to area of responsibility plus ten (10) years of professional and management experience in similar area. Additional job-related education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
