    The Position

    Your Next Career Move Awaits! Napa County Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) is seeking a Supervising Staff Services Analyst for their Finance Division. The incumbents in this position will direct, coordinate, evaluate and monitor the work of assigned staff involved in the budgeting and claiming, as assigned. This position involves work that is varied, complex and highly specialized in the area of budgeting, claiming, and accounting activities.

    The ideal candidates will have experience in budgeting and accounting. They will oversee daily operations and provide fiscal support and budget development to program divisions within HHSA and provide recommendations for fiscal process development or improvements to the Staff Services Managers.

    This position will work cooperatively with co-workers, foster professional growth and optimal performance of team members, communicate effectively with others, and engage in mutual problem solving. They will help promote a positive and collaborative work environment that supports the agency’s overall mission.

    This recruitment is being conducted to fill 2 (two) full-time vacancies. The list established by this recruitment may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and extra help vacancies for up to one year.

    MOU-agreed salary increases and Winter Time Off (WTO):
    • 3.5% COLA Increase effective 7/1/2025
    • 3.5% COLA increase effective 7/1/2026
    • 32 hours of Winter Time Off (WTO)


    POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    Experience and Education
    To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is:

    Experience:
    Two years of significant, directly related and progressive experience performing administrative management, personnel, fiscal, budgetary, staff development or data processing analysis work, preferably to include some lead or supervisory experience; or one year of experience performing duties equivalent to the Staff Services Analyst II classification with Napa County.

    Education:
    Equivalent to graduation from college with major course work in business administration, public administration, systems analysis, accounting or related field. (Responsible supervisory or higher level experience performing a variety of difficult analytical work, which includes the independent research, analysis, and preparation of reports, in any of the following areas: administrative, management, personnel, fiscal, budgetary, or data processing may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis).

    License or Certificate*:
    Certain positions assigned to this class may require possession of a valid California Driver's License.

    *Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.

    Only the most qualified candidates from the oral panel exam will be placed on the eligibility list and may be considered to fill positions for up to one year.

    Napa County employees automatically become Disaster Service Workers.
