    Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Information Technology Division, located at 4800 E 63rd St.
    Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m. with telework available after a 6 month probationary period.

    Responsibilities

    Work involves responsibility for day-to-day operation of a virtualized server environment including multiple hosts, and dozens of VMs. Employees of this class may assist lower-level IT staff with more complex technical problems and solutions. Under limited supervision, the IT Senior Analyst coordinates department needs across the server environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensures daily backups are completed, tested, and functional.
    • Performs daily monitoring of the health and function of server hardware, storage hardware, virtual environment, and all VMs contained therein.
    • Provisions or decommissions virtual servers and desktops as needed.
    • Performs routine patching of the ESXi hosts, virtual server and desktop operating systems, and server applications.
    • Maintains compliance with best practices regarding server configurations, backups, and user access.
    • Maintains documentation of server systems including configuration, procedures, and other pertinent information.
    • Communicates effectively with management and stakeholders regarding any issues that affect daily functions.
    • Works to meet business and user needs while maintaining adherence to policies and procedures.
    • Performs hardware upgrades/replacement/retirement on server and storage hardware.
    • Assists in complex projects in a competent fashion.
    • Provides staff training of server systems and applications, as needed.
    • Ensures team meets weekly KPIs regarding ticket completion, server up time, etc.
    • Works with users, desktop support staff, application developers, and application administrators to resolve functional issues and accommodate new needs.
    • Communicates maintenance windows or other system outages to all stakeholders.
    • Demonstrates a positive attitude regarding embracing change and continuous improvement.
    • Performs related work as required.


    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 3 years of technology experience; OR a n equivalent combination of qualifying education and technology experience.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
