    Role

    Under general supervision, performs administrative functions and coordinates the assigned programs for Juvenile Court Services.

    Major Duties, Responsibilities

    • Manages program participants and provides ongoing support as needed.
    • Conducts research, compiles, and analyzes data using spreadsheets, graphs and word processing software; submits reports to administration as needed or required.
    • Prepares written and oral reports; responds to requests for information; develops policies and procedures, and coordinates activities with collaborating agencies.
    • Assists with coordinating or supporting other juvenile dependency programs and activities.
    • Assists in the maintenance, inventory, disposition and storage of all supplies, equipment, and tools.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Dependency Court
    • Screens prospective participants, facilitates collaboration among participants, and provides ongoing support to participants.
    • Identifies, coordinates, and develops needed services.
    • Participates in administrative meetings and trainings required by County and State; attends staffing, Foster Care Review Board, model court conferences, hearings, and judicial hearing with, or in the absence of, volunteers.
    • May perform administrative functions, including planning, data entry, records management, and coordination of special events for volunteers and program participants.
    • Develops curriculum and provides training programs for judges, court staff, participants, and community agencies.

    Juvenile Programs
    • Manages a group of program participants by overseeing participants' physical safety and emotional wellbeing and ensure that they achieve personal and program success through principles of teamwork and job training.
    • Documents daily work progress, challenges, and safety concerns, and provides feedback to Probation Officers.
    • Conducts daily educational, technical, and safety training for program participants.
    • Completes quarterly and yearly statistics and make recommendations for retention, dismissal, and replacement to the Program Manager.
    • Safely transports program participants, associate crew leader and self in an extended length van.

    Victim Rights
    • Explains criminal justice procedures to victims, provides victim's rights information and statutory notifications to qualified victims, and tracks status of each case as they progress.
    • Provides victim's rights information to Probation Officers, victims, and the community.
    • Provides case information and explains criminal justice procedures to victims.
    • Tracks and submits regular statistical reports to administration for state grant funding.
    • Develops, reviews, and refines materials to be used for community education.
    • Recruits, supervises, and trains victim advocate volunteers.
    • Accompanies victims to various court hearings.
    • Assists the probation department in adhering to statutes regarding victim's rights.
    • Oversees and maintains statistical information.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:
    A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in the fields of substance abuse treatment, child welfare, community intervention, juvenile programs, victim rights, or a related field.

    Additional Requirements:
    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
    Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal resident status.
    Must complete annual training as required by the Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET).
    Must complete training as required by other County and State agencies.
    May be required to pass a pre-employment character and fitness background investigation, including but not limited to: fingerprinting and criminal history records check, driving records check through the Motor Vehicles Division, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, credit check, and/or submit to and pass an alcohol and illegal drug use screening.
