Full-time position available with the Fire Department, Financial Services Division located at 635 Woodland Ave.
Salary Range: $7,268-$10,902/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Serves as the Chief Financial Manager for the Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) with a direct report to the Fire Chief.
- Oversees all Fire Department Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budget, Debt, Contracts, Grant Financials, all KCFD Audits, and Financial Reporting.
- Submits and files Ground Emergency Medical Transport (GEMT) cost reports on an annual basis to Missouri Department of Social Services.
- Oversees KCFD's Payroll section which enters all FTE's (over 1,300 FTEs) hour into Peoplesoft and must have clear understanding of three separate CBA's and all Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA) specifically 207K exemption laws.
- Approves all Vouchers, Journals, and Purchase Order request and approve all department credit card purchases.
- Assists in writing and billing for all contract in which KCFD provides services to other municipalities, counties, and entities with an estimated revenue over $5.0 million annually.
- Produces and manages KCFDs annual Budget over $300 million.
- Manages KCFD's Lease Purchase and provides financial analysis with an average cost of up to $70 million.
- Provides all analysis and costs associated to all KCFD's contracts.
- Provides all financial reporting on an annual basis for KCFD's Grants.
- Manages all of KCFD's financial reports for all audits interna/external, PAFR, Federal, State, City Council, City Manager, and KCFD executive staff.
- Writes, approves and manages all KCFD Ordinances, Fact Sheets, and Docket Memo.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related subject area; and 5 (OR an accredited Master's degree in the mentioned fields and 4) years professional experience of a progressively responsible nature in corporate or municipal finance including but not limited to accounting, banking, billing and collections, debt and investment portfolio management, financial reporting, development review, and projecting and monitoring tax and fee activities, including 2 years' experience managing financial projects and/or programs.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
