DescriptionEmergency Response Team operators are assigned to a rotational schedule with options for a permanent shift assignment. The team is on duty twenty-four hours a day seven days a week.
SALARY RANGE:HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20.80 - $29.33APPLICATION DEADLINE: SUNDAY, JUNE 29, 2025. Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe team duties include, but are not limited to performing security, safety, and custodial care of inmates, responding to all emergencies and disturbances within the facility, conducting high visibility patrols and inmate escorts in a safe and effective manner. Applicants must be reliable and excel in a team environment; demonstrate excellent communication and verbal de-escalation skills; possess the ability to make professional decisions in a stressful environment.
Minimum QualificationsATTRIBUTESApplicants hired for employment will also:
Complete a basic Emergency Response Team training program.
Complete training in Housing Units to include Behavioral Management and Special Management.
Obtain certifications in Firearms, Taser, Oleoresin Capsicum and Less Lethal Munitions within 90 days of hire.
Receive over 100 hours of Emergency Response Team training annually.

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesTwelve months experience and active certification from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy as a Class 2 law enforcement officer is preferred but may be waived with prior military, law enforcement or corrections tactical experience. Applicants meeting the minimum criteria must submit to and successfully complete all phases of the hiring process including a physical abilities test.
