    Job Description

    The Storekeeper I is instrumental in making a difference for the Infrastructure Training & Safety Institute (ITSI) by assisting in receiving, recording, storing, maintaining, preparing, issuing, and accounting for materials, equipment, and supplies used to support the various training programs within the division. Additionally, the Storekeeper I will locate requested stock, maintain records of usage, and utilize their skills in the maintenance of adequate and complete records of the inventory. The Storekeeper I will provide accurate and timely inventory reports and data needed, and verify order forms, digital storefront print orders, and may deliver items to their destination upon request. Finally, the Storekeeper I will be responsible for the inspection of goods received.

    This position will report to the Business Director for ITSI.

    Required Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • One year of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or shipping environment.


    Required Licenses/Certifications:
    • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Two years or more of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or shipping environment.


    Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.
    • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and move to maintain and complete inventories.
    • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. of books and packed course materials.
    • Must be able to use a computer, keyboard, telephone, fax, weighing device, and dolly.
    • Ability to support 8-10 hours/day standing.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Proficient knowledge of computers. (Microsoft Office)
    • Excellent attention to details and accuracy.
    • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing, to perform job responsibilities.
    • Ability to handle any confidential information accordingly.
    • Knowledge of inventory control and software to monitor.
    • Knowledge of purchase order, invoice, payable, and receiving procedures.
    • Knowledge of inventory systems.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Excellent organizational skills.


    Equipment:
    • Standard office equipment: computer, keyboard, multifunctional printer, telephone, fax, weighing device, and dolly.


    Notifications:
    • This position is security sensitive.
    • This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TEEX regulations and procedures.
    • All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and Agency safety requirements.
    • This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
    • As part of TEEX’s mission of providing training, developing practical solutions, and saving lives; this position could be required, if called upon, to deploy within the State of Texas as directed by this position’s Division Director/HQ Department Head.
    • This position may require occasional overtime work hours as directed by supervisor.


    Essential Duties, Tasks, and Percentages:

    Maintains Inventory Control System Measures for Training Class Inventories - 80%
    • Assists in receiving, inspecting, storing, packing, routing, and maintaining TEEX course materials and inventory for training classes.
    • Sorts, checks, and stocks incoming materials.
    • Verifies incoming and outgoing materials/equipment against division Pack Out Lists, shipping requests, and/or invoices.
    • Maintains orderly and neat inventory and warehouse space.


    Assists with Monitoring Inventory in Stock and in Transit - 10%
    • Assists in providing programs inventory reports for use in requisitioning standard stock items, supplies, or materials within established limits and replenishing inventory supply through monthly/weekly inventory reports for cycle counts/division needs and as needed.
    • Cross-check inventory accuracy with Pace and Digital Storefront weekly.


    Maintains ITSI Distribution Center Supply Inventory - 5%
    • Examines incoming and outgoing shipped goods.
    • Assists in verifying completeness of orders and reconciling against bills, invoices, credit cards, and other types of statement order forms as necessary.
    • Assists in physical monitoring and reviewing inventory periodically.


    Additional Program/Division responsibilities - 5%
    • Assists with processing division eStore shipments and maintaining its inventory.
    • Maintains the cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding areas.
    • Monitors stock levels for shipping materials and initiates orders to restock shipping materials as needed.
    • Performs additional work duties as assigned.
