The Opportunity:The
Transportation Mobility Service Officer Lead acts as a lead to other Mobility Service Officers, schedules shifts, works with officers to resolve difficult customer conflicts, trains employees in parking and ground transportation code regulations, issuing citations, conflict resolutions, and in handling court appearances. This position requires excellent people skills. This position requires applicants with good moral standards to work with the public to enforce parking enforcement laws and city codes. Driving record will be evaluated to ensure it meets the City’s Safety Driving Record Standards.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Leads the work of Mobility Service Officers by assigning, scheduling, and assessing work; provides technical direction, determines priorities, and assesses the training needs of staff. Performs traffic control activities, patrolling duties, immobilizes and impounds vehicles, and other duties performed by Transportation Mobility Service Officers. Enforces and interprets transportation code and parking regulations and issues citations for violations of state and city laws and ordinances; immobilizes or impounds vehicles. Prepares and maintains performance records and documentation. Analyzes daily operations and provides recommendations for developing parking and traffic control strategies. Responds to and investigates incidents and complaints from the public, researches ticket complaints, testifies in court, and completes probable cause affidavits to assist in prosecution of transportation and parking violations. Responds to minor traffic collisions to direct and expedite the flow of traffic. May provide basic first aid. Responds to and handles escalated and difficult situations and resolves parking disputes. Monitors and reports major thoroughfares and intersections throughout the City to identify and report inefficient roadway operations or faulty traffic signal timing and sequencing issues. Collaborates with and assists traffic engineers by reporting and investigating mobility issues. Reports or remedies roadway hazards that impede the normal traffic flow. Monitors and attends installed temporary traffic barricades during special events or non-standard occurrences. Reviews and verifies authorization to use City right-of-way.
