The Community Development Department encompasses Planning, Building, Housing, and Code Enforcement, with the aim of helping the City reach its housing goals while also achieving climate resiliency and a sustainable future. The Assistant Community Development Director has responsibility for the overall administration and management of the department. The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Director in accomplishing departmental goals and objectives, supervising staff, and directing the day-to-day operations and activities of assigned areas. The City is seeking a collaborative, empathetic, and motivated candidate to serve as the next Assistant Community Development Director. The ideal candidate will have a strong vision for the department and will inspire growth amongst staff. The successful candidate will be a proven leader who has experience building consensus with staff and other departments. A politically astute, hands-on, and creative candidate is desired.
The annual salary range for the Assistant Community Development Director is $166,483 - $202,342 with a 3% COLA base wage increase effective no later than the first full pay period following July 1, 2025; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
