  • Job Description

    NBU is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to provide leadership and oversight of all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial planning and analysis, capital planning, cash and debt management, investments, procurement, financial reporting, and rate development. With a focus on transparency and integrity, the CFO drives financial operations that fully align with legal requirements, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices. Additionally, the CFO plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating energy-related financial risks, including market volatility, procurement exposure, and long-term hedging strategies to ensure financial stability and resilience.

    NBU offers an exceptional total rewards package designed to attract and retain top talent. The CFO position includes a base salary in the $191,637.46 - $306,619.93 range.   • Job Requirements

    Eligible candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field,  a proven record of at least seven (7) years of financial management and accounting experience, including five (5) years in a senior leadership role within municipal finance, utilities finance, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license issued by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, or by reciprocity from another U.S. state board is preferred.
