Job Description
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Warrants Technician uses computer-based data entry programs in operating NCIC/CCIC computer terminals. Maintains arrest warrant files. Assists general public, JCSO personnel and other law enforcement personnel in the dissemination of warrant information and modification of official warrant documents.

Description:- Monitor all computer traffic coming in and going out of the JCSO Originating Agency Identifier (ORI). Disseminate all messages to the proper intradepartmental terminals, including hot confirmation requests for guarded agencies and JCSO records.
- Receive new warrants and cancellations entered by Jefferson County Courts assigned to JCSO ORI through the CBI CICJIS computer system. Verify accuracy of warrant based on a visual review of the entry and any previous history of warrant docket number. Determine need for further processing.
- Confirm county warrants to intradepartmental and outside agencies through NCIC/CCIC computer system. Verify subject identity and warrant criteria for arrest.
- Enter all received warrants into in-house database. Determine accuracy of provided data.
- Pack all felony, domestic violence, escape, child abuse warrants with criminal history, court case history, and driver’s license registration. Verify the accuracy of assimilated information from various sources.
- Modify the CCIC warrant entry with assimilated information into NCIC and enter warrant into the JCSO records management system (RMS). Verify the accuracy of the data. Monitor warrant receipt and modification timeframes for FBI compliance.
- To meet sheriff statutory compliance in county inmate transportation, coordinate incoming and outgoing interstate extradition for all county agencies.
- Monitor intrastate custody status of subjects wanted on JSCO warrants and update in NCIC/CCIC and in-house RMS database. Advise transportation unit of outside pick-up requests based on agency teletype requests.
- Communicate with public by telephone regarding warrant status. Determine what information can be disseminated based on JCSO policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Starting Pay $27.21 per hour or $56,59893 - $30.63 per hour or $63,702.59
Top out pay after years in position $84,898.39 or $40.82 per hour- Certification from Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC) through Colorado Bureau of Investigation, entry and query level within 6 months of hire date
- CJIS Security training Level 3 within 6 months of hire date
- Preferred - Related Specialized Training
