    Requirements

    MOS Mode: 3E000 (Air Force), 0411 (Marine Corps), 4275 (Navy), 12D (Army)

    Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Public Administration, Construction Management or related field and four (4) years’ experience in facilities or site maintenance and two (2) years of supervisory experience; Or an Associate's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Construction Management or related field and six (6) years’ experience facilities or site maintenance and three (3) years of supervisory experience.

    Licenses and Certificates : Texas Class "C" Driver's License.

    General Purpose

    Under general direction, direct, coordinate, plan and ensure quality maintenance across the downtown footprint and the City’s quality of life projects across major corridors, including amenities and all elements of the build environment, to improve the appearance, vitality and economic development of the downtown and quality of life project sites throughout the community.

    Typical Duties

    Consistently inspect and proactively address and resolve issues with elements and amenities across the downtown footprint and quality of life sites citywide, to ensure high quality assurance for optimized operations and visual impact. Involves: Plan, coordinate, direct and supervise all activities required to support quality assurance across the downtown footprint and quality of life sites. Develop specifications and ensure quality of completion for maintenance activities to be performed across facilities, parks, landscape elements, venues and infrastructure.

    Coordinate and collaborate City work and activities with other entities within the Downtown/Uptown footprint areas and other major corridors, as appropriate, to include, but not limited to, other government agencies, Central Business Association, Downtown Management District, State Agencies, Destination El Paso, Hotel/Motel Association and Chambers of Commerce. Involves: Supervise and prioritize daily duties and assignments of assigned staff and contractors. Work in a safe manner and report unsafe activity and conditions. Follow City-wide safety policy and practices and adhere to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in Municipal, County, State and Federal guidelines. Maintain and update project tracking and work order system using computer programs. Maintain accurate data within the GIS format and pavement management software to assist in short term and long-term planning. Prepare reports and presentations to department supervisors or administrative staff.

    Supervise assigned staff. Involves: Schedule, assign, guide and check work. Review operational and procedural activities. Prioritize and coordinate divisional activities. Appraise employee performance and review evaluations by subordinates. Determine staff training needs and recommend assignments to training programs. Provide staff training and development. Enforce personnel rules, regulations, and work standards. Counsel, motivate and maintain harmony. Interview applicants. Recommend hire, termination, transfers, discipline, merit pay or other employee status changes.
