Your responsibilities will include: - Resolving customer inquiries by phone or in person
- Researching accounts, processing payments, and establishing payment arrangements
- Explaining tax laws and policies to the public in an approachable and professional manner
- Initiating collection actions on delinquent accounts
- Updating tax records for business, real estate, and individual property
- Processing electronic and mailed payments

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
- One year of experience in customer service and/or cashiering
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Two years of experience in a professional business environment requiring heavy customer service and multitasking
- While prior experience in a local, state, or federal tax office is always a plus, we welcome those who are eager to learn, have great customer service skills and are willing to do their best every day to support the taxpayers of Wake County

Emergency Service Worker StatementIn the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected.
