    • Systems/Network Administrator I $28.28 - $36.06
    • Systems/Network Administrator II $28.90 - $38.29
    • Systems/Network Administrator III $31.51 - $41.74


    Performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks relative to the City of Orlando's multi-user computer systems, servers, and networks. Responsibilities include specification, installation, maintenance, configuration, security, tuning, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, capacity planning, client support, and documentation of City computer systems, networks, and associated hardware/software resources. Must adhere to City and departmental policies and procedures. Work is performed under the general supervision of departmental managers and is subject to periodic review and evaluation. Work requires a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Systems/Network Administrator I
    Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in Computer Science and one (1) year of work experience related to multi-user computer system/network administration, management, or support; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required . Must pass police background investigation. Experience with specific computer systems, network technologies, communication protocols, or programming languages may be desired, depending on assignment.

    Systems/Network Administrator II
    Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in Computer Science and at least two (2) years work experience related to multi-user computer system/network administration, management, or support; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must pass police background investigation. Experience with specific computer systems, network technologies, communication protocols, or programming languages may be desired, depending on assignment.

    Systems/Network Administrator III

    Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in Computer Science and at least five (5) years of work experience, including some City of Orlando employment related to multi-user computer system/network administration, management, or support; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with specific computer systems, network technologies, communication protocols, or programming languages may be desired depending on assignment. Valid Florida Driver's License required . Must pass police background investigation.

    Additional Qualifications for Promotion:

    Promotions are not to be considered an automatic function of longevity and are subject to the review and authorization of the Supervisor. The employee’s last performance review must have resulted in an overall rating of Meets standards or better with no factor rating of less than meets.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
