The Department of Health and Environment is seeking a skilled, hard-working individual to join our team as a full-time Medical Assistant!
This position will work in our Clinical Services Program supporting both sexual and reproductive health and immunization services. This role will also assist with administrative duties, outreach work, off-site events, and additional clinical support duties as assigned. This position will work in a team-based model of care environment and provide direct patient care while also supporting the other clinical and clerical team members.
The typical schedule for this position will be 40-hours per week, Monday through Friday during clinic hours with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.

Please note: a resume and cover letter need to be attached to your application in order to be considered for this position. ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:
- Taking vital signs, height, and weight measurements; performing laboratory screenings as indicated; preparing specimens for transport to outside labs; obtaining point-of-care testing; and recording results in the electronic health record in accordance with department procedures.
- Obtaining blood samples by venipuncture for specified laboratory tests, following appropriate phlebotomy practices and department policy.
- Administering immunizations and injections as delegated by healthcare providers, in accordance with department policy.
- Assisting healthcare providers with maintaining accurate and current documentation of services provided.
- Preparing, stocking, and cleaning examination rooms.
- Maintaining inventory of clinic supplies and equipment.
- Reviewing client medical and social histories; checking patient forms for completeness and accuracy; and recording appropriate client information in the electronic health record.
- Keeping informed of current medical updates and continuing education topics pertinent to the role.
- Participating in routine reporting, audits of clinic charts, and data collection as required by the program and the Colorado Department of Health and Environment.

What we're looking for:
- Have experience working as a medical assistant in a clinical setting, with sexual and reproductive health and immunization experience preferred
- Preferably have bilingual language skills (English/Spanish)
- Have regular, predictable attendance with flexibility to work Monday through Friday with occasional weekend and evening hours
- Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
- Be proficient using electronic medical record systems for documentation of patient encounters
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Have knowledge of and experience with software and business applications including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases
- Evaluate and prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring adherence to deadlines and completion with a high level of accuracy
- Provide and receive feedback in a constructive manner
- Have a team-focused approach, with a willingness to help others when needed
- Preferably have a Medical Assistant certification.

- One (1) years of related experience, required. Successful completion of a medical assistant certification program, may be substituted for the one (1) year of related experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility as needed and required.
- Basic Life Support certification within one year from date of hire, required.
- Phlebotomy certification or completion of Larimer County Department of Health and Environment phlebotomy training within one (1) year from date of hire required.
