    The City of Irvine is looking for a skilled and tech-savvy professional to maintain the City's Aquatics centers. If you have experience with building and facility maintenance, and you're ready to take on exciting challenges at commercial swimming pools, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

    Your Impact
    • Perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks in the operation, maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of equipment at Aquatics facilities, including testing for chlorine, PH, calcium hardness, TCS, and total alkalinity.
    • Treat water with chemicals to maintain safe and healthy water quality; monitors chemical usage and clean probes and chemical injectors.
    • Repair a variety of equipment including backstroke flags, lane lines, lane line reels, pool covers, lifeguard stands, and diving boards.
    • Perform mechanical inspections and repairs to pool heaters, pumps, motors, filters, underwater pool lights, and gaskets.
    • Conduct daily inspections of all Aquatic facility and mechanical systems; perform general maintenance and repairs as necessary
    • Prepare work orders, inspection forms, and risk management assessments.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent with vocational/technical training in a specialty, such as HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or building maintenance
    • Three years building construction/maintenance experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
    • Possession of a valid California driver's license.
    Best Fit
    • Five years of commercial pooling maintenance experience is highly desirable.
    • Certified Po ol Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification is highly desirable. The candidate will need to obtain within their first six (6) months of employment.
    • Water pump and motor knowledge and experience is highly desirable.
    • Proven track record of outstanding situational awareness, high customer service, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong computer knowledge including computer literacy and working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, word processing, and records management.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Prior experience working with work order system and Microsoft Outlook and other programs.
    • Ability to work independently for long periods of time.

    The Process
