    DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
    The Deputy District Attorney's in the El Dorado County District Attorney's Office, prosecute adult and juvenile offenders for criminal offenses, evaluates law enforcement reports and documents, assists in search warrant preparation, prepares and files legal briefs and memoranda relating to prosecution activities and appeals, conducts original and supplemental investigation of cases, and to prepares for and conducts trials, post-trial and sentencing hearings, and appeals.

    THE OPPORTUNITY


    Under administrative direction, plans, organizes, directs, and oversees the operations of the innovation and transparency initiatives within the District Attorney’s Office; develops and implements strategic initiatives to enhance technological efficiency, data transparency, and accountability; serves as a primary advisor on innovation and technology matters to the District Attorney and leadership team; ensures compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and ethical standards; and performs related duties as assigned.

    The selected candidate will have the opportunity to:
    • Plan, organize, manage, and direct the operations, staff, and activities of a division within the District Attorney’s Office; division operational areas include, but are not limited to, technology infrastructure and advancements, business process analysis and security.
    • Develop and implement the office’s strategic goals related to technological advancements, data transparency, and process efficiency.
    • Develop and direct the implementation of goals, objectives, work standards, and division policies and procedures.
    • Oversee IT operations, including case management systems, data security protocols, and compliance with legal standards.
    • Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to align technology initiatives with County-wide goals.

    Education and Experience:
    A combination of the required experience, education, and training that would provide the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying; however, education may not solely substitute for the required experience.

    Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in information technology, criminal justice, public administration, or a closely related field;
    AND

    Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, data analysis, or project management, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management capacity.

    Licenses and Certifications:
    Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California or Nevada Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
    The County of El Dorado is recruiting applicants for Chief of Innovation Transparency and Technology. This recruitment will establish a list for the purpose of filling current and future full time, part time, limited term and extra help vacancies for at least three (3) months. In accordance with Personnel Rules 1103.1 and 1105.1, an extra help or limited term employee may be transitioned into a regular employee if the department in which the employee works has a vacant allocated position for the same classification as held by the extra help or limited term employee and the appointing authority requests such transfer.

    • One (1) Limited Term vacancy in the District Attorney Office, located in Placerville, CA. Limited term appointments are at-will appointments in the unclassified service that unless earlier terminated, terminate automatically at the end of the specific project for which the appointment is made. The current vacancy is anticipated to end 03/08/2026 . Employees serving under a limited term appointment receive benefits (health, retirement, and paid leave benefits) but are not considered regular employees.
