Supervision & Examples of Duties SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receives general direction from the Air Pollution Control Officer.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Exercises direct supervision over lower-level staff.
Qualifications Experience and Training Guidelines: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Four-year’s experience investigating and inspecting sources of air pollution for compliance with federal and state standards, including one-year supervisory responsibility. Additional comprehensive knowledge in the field of Air Pollution may be substituted for the requirement of graduation from an accredited four-year college or university on a year for year basis.
Training:
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in environmental health, chemistry, physics, engineering, business or a related field.
Licenses: Possession of or the ability to obtain an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
Supplemental InformationThe salary range above consists of 15 steps. Steps 1-6 are annual merit steps with approximately 5% difference between each step, based on successful performance. Steps 7-15 are additional merit steps, requiring 2 years of satisfactory performance at the previous step. Steps 7-14 provide 2.5% increases, while Step 15 offers a 5% increase. The final salary offered will depend on the applicant's experience and qualifications, ranging from steps 1 to 15.Colusa County offers an excellent benefit package.
