    The Position

    Retail Storekeepers perform merchandising and inventory control duties to maximize profits in a retail store or e-Commerce environment which includes canteen stores and coffee shops in correctional facilities and other State retail operations.

    This position is responsible for managing the operations of the Gift Shop at Cathedral Gorge State Park, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the Visitor Center and surrounding park grounds. The role combines customer service, custodial work, and outdoor maintenance to create a welcoming and well-maintained environment for park visitors. Key responsibilities include greeting visitors, providing park information, operating the Point of Sale (POS) system to process sales of merchandise and park fees, managing inventory, and restocking products. The manager will also collaborate with vendors to develop site-specific products, place orders, and receive deliveries. Additionally, this role requires accurate cash handling and ensuring timely and accurate deposits. The manager will ensure the Gift Shop areas are well stocked, organized and displays are shopper friendly. The position also includes custodial and grounds maintenance duties for the Visitor Center, Gift Shop, and other public areas.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) One year of storekeeping or retail experience which included stocking, sales and/or customer service. Special Requirements Applicants may be required to work weekends, holidays and/or special events. A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
