    Overview

    Four day work weeks! Work outside!

    Larimer County Road and Bridge is looking for hardworking, motivated individuals to join our team. The Road and Bridge Department is responsible for operating and maintaining the transportation system in Larimer County; the Seasonal Driver positions serve a vital role in our ability to successfully meet this responsibility.

    The typical schedule for this position is 7am - 5:30pm Monday to Thursday. This is a temporary position that will be assigned across multiple locations. This position is expected to last 5 months. E mployees are required to wear steel-toe safety shoes, which they must provide themselves. Additionally, this position may qualify for medical insurance benefits.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:
    • Helping to operate our fleet of over 40 CDL/CMV vehicles and supporting operations such as gravel road maintenance, chip sealing, drainage maintenance, and other road maintenance and construction activities.
    • Operating a tandem axle water truck to support gravel road maintenance operations, a tandem axle dump truck for hauling construction materials to and from project sites, and a Class A tractor/trailer tanker for delivering asphalt emulsion to chip seal project sites.
    • Operating heavy construction equipment as assigned.
    • Performing physical labor for extended periods outdoors in all weather conditions, day or night, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

    What we're looking for:
    • Demonstrating consistent and reliable attendance.
    • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
    • Understanding principles, practices, and techniques of heavy highway construction and maintenance.
    • Reading and comprehending department and County rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
    • Operating Larimer County-approved computer programs as needed.


    Qualifications

    • Related experience preferred.
    • Ability to obtain a Colorado Flaggers Certification within two (2) weeks of employment required.
    • Possession of a valid driver license required.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age on date of hire, required.
    • Safety-toe shoes, required.
    • Possession of, and ability to maintain a class ‘B' or a class ‘A' commercial driver license (CDL) without the following restrictions: 'L' -air brake restriction, 'O' -no/Trctr/Trlr restriction(s), ‘E' -No manual transmission, ‘X'-No cargo in CMV tank vehicle or ‘Z' - No full air brake equipped CMV required.
    • Ability to obtain 'N' Tank endorsement by date of hire required.
