    Role

    Under minimal supervision, performs work of considerable difficulty developing and managing the daily business, and the administrative, personnel, financial and technology operations of the department.

    Major Duties, Responsibilities

    • Manages the overall planning, organizing, and execution of the information technology functions of the department.
    • Manages the practice management system within the department and analyzes the need for new or updated systems and applications.
    • Oversees the development, project management, implementation of technology related programs.
    • Develops training materials and provides ongoing training to staff for programs and other related software.
    • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves technical issues and provides technical support for staff.
    • Writes custom database queries as needed. Makes budget recommendations within scope of assigned duties.
    • Coordinates projects with the other county departments, courts, community partners, services providers and related agencies/government and service groups.
    • Participates in interviewing and selection of new employees, provides direct supervision, evaluates employee performance, maintains, and updates employee personnel records, processes paperwork, and performs necessary actions for new employees.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Technology Management, or closely related field.

    Experience:
    A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in project or program management, application management, public record keeping, and/or information systems, to include two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.

    An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and education may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-per-year basis.

    Additional Requirements:

    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

    • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and communicating orally in a face-to-face setting and by telephone with public and employees.
    • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
    • Organization and adherence to detail.

    Ability to:
    • Keeps management informed of issues that may affect the department.
    • Work effectively with others under short deadlines in high-pressure situations and changing priorities.
    • Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
    • Work professionally and effectively with coworkers, clients, and the general public and work cooperatively and as a team within office and with law enforcement.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
    • Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
    • Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
    • Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
    • Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.


    Work Environment:
    The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.

    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
