In this role you will perform communications, outreach, and community engagement activities to facilitate access to information, programs, and services provided by the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment in both English and Spanish languages.

The standard work schedule for this Limited Term position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility for a hybrid schedule. Occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required during emergencies or urgent response situations.

- Assisting with the development and implementation of internal and external communication plans and strategies.
- Preparing content for and/or designing e-newsletters, brochures, signage, and various outreach materials in both English and Spanish.
- Developing web and social media content in line with communication guidelines and brand standards.
- Coordinating, preparing, and/or presenting materials for schools, civic groups, professional associations, community events, and other interested parties about Larimer County programs and services.
- Facilitating and participating in outreach events and activities, representing the County/Department.
- Assisting in responding to inquiries from the public, news media, or others by providing information directly or referring to the appropriate staff person.
- Promoting and marketing programs and services through written communications, such as newsletters.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with communications and outreach representatives from other agencies and/or community groups.
- Supporting departmental technology applications related to communications, including e-newsletters, survey tools, translation tools, and graphic design software.

What we're looking for:
- Ability to provide translation and live interpretation in English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in routine software and business applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing, with correct usage of spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Strong writing skills for educational brochures, rack cards, and other public information materials.
- Basic skills in content creation for websites and social media, as well as in photography and video production.
- Knowledge of graphic design and design standards.
- Professional representation of the County with local, state, and national agencies and organizations, as assigned.
QualificationsTo move forward in the hiring process, candidates must meet the required minimum qualifications. - Two (2) years of experience working with design programs, such as Indesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop required.
- Three (3) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related field required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
- Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility and around the community as needed and required.
