    Requirements

    MOS Code: 3F211 (Air Force), 0169 (Navy)

    Education and Experience : Bachelor's Degree in Health Education, Community Health Education, Public Health Education, School Health Education, or related field.

    Licenses and Certificates : Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state by the date of appointment.

    General Purpose

    Under general supervision, organize educational presentations and materials according to lesson plans to educate and guide the community on good public health practices.

    Typical Duties

    • Compile, review, and disseminate materials on specific subjects of public health interest, including pandemic prevention and mitigation measures and vaccination clinics from selected sources and references.
    • Works with news media and civic groups on public awareness campaigns to increase awareness of the importance of participation in health education services.
    • Assist with community outreach information on mass vaccination clinics.
    • Organize educational community engagement seminars and workshops.
    • Develop and present health education and promotion programs to community organizations.
    • Facilitate the coordination of Crisis and Emergency Risk Communications (CERC) response, and community mitigation education.
    • Assist in planning and coordinating training programs and continuing education programs to increase the expertise of departmental personnel.
    • Assist with the coordination of the availability of faculty, equipment, and course materials for the smooth progression of the training effort.

    Salary Range: $42,330.00 - $64,33.00 per year.
    The starting salary is generally at the beginning of the salary range.
