What You'll Be DoingWake County is looking for an energetic and motivated Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) Manager to lead a dedicated team within ourEconomic Services (ESS) Division.

- Lead & Inspire - Guide an amazing team in delivering top-notch Food & Nutrition Services while keeping energy and morale high!
- Set the Vision - Develop and execute both long-term and short-term goals to ensure our services are always efficient and effective.
- Analyze & Improve - Monitor program performance, track key data, and implement effective procedures to meet federal and state standards.
- Coach & Support - Supervise a group of fantastic FNS supervisors, provide feedback, and help them grow professionally.
- Train & Communicate - Ensure staff members are fully equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
- Engage with the Community - Be the go-to person for public inquiries, escalated client concerns, and program-related questions.
- Collaborate & Innovate - Work with other departments and community partners to enhance access to essential services.

About Our TeamWake County Health and Human Services (WCHHS) is the consolidation of programs and services that include social services, public health, job search assistance, child support, and transportation. The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree
- Five years of job-related experience, including three years of supervisor experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Three years Food & Nutrition Services supervisory experience
- Five years Supervisory experience in an Economic Services program (Medicaid, Work First, Childcare Subsidy, Child Support, Energy) or related Human Services program in a county or state DSS
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - Knowledge of Food & Nutrition Services program policy and regulations
- Monitor/assess performance of oneself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and/or in a team setting
- Ability to quickly assess the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
- Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment in performing the duties of the position
- Experience providing positive support, while leading and motivating staff
