    The Position

    Budget Analysts prepare and implement budgets including the development of expenditure projections, narrative justification of programs, and detailed biennial spending plans; review and analyze budget requests and adjustments; and ensure compliance with budgetary directives, policies, regulations and limitations.

    The Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) is recruiting to underfill a Budget Analyst 2 position within the Fiscal Services Unit in Reno. The incumbent will oversee the new budget account established for the private hospital provider tax program and associated supplemental payments. The incumbent will assist in monitoring, tracking, and projecting financial transactions related to this program. Additionally, the incumbent will build the budget for this program under budget account 3177; maintaining budget tracking files, auditing documents to verify accuracy and appropriate coding, and auditing financial information using the Nevada Executive Budget System (NEBS) and Contract Entry and Tracking System (CETS).

    To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance, economics, or closely related field and two years of professional budgeting, economic or management analysis and projection, accounting, staff analyst, or auditing experience which included the identification of organizational problems and solutions, making recommendations regarding solutions and writing reports; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
