POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATIONThe Assistant Recreation Facility Supervisor position assists the Recreation Supervisor with the day-to-day administration and supervision of recreation facilities, involving coordination, planning, and direction of personnel and guests of a multi-function recreation facility, which could include weight room, recreation programs, special events and other leisure facilities. Performs a variety of functions including maintaining a high level of guest service. Once trained, employees must be able to perform with minimal supervision in a fast-paced leisure facility environment.
The availability of work hours for this position will be determined by one or all of these factors: program length, weather, and budget. The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS Essential Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks Assists in facility supervision which could include: locker room facilities, weight room, meeting/activity room, and other facilities which may be indoor or outdoorResponsible for recreation center operations while on duty, and responsible for maintaining discipline in recreation areasPerforms public relations, explains and provides information to facility users, and may be assigned to work the front counter or other control areasResponsible for daily cash controls, opening or securing the facility as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor and assisting in maintaining facilities in a clean, neat, and safe mannerMaintains regular and punctual attendance

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS/PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications Required :- Bachelor’s Degree and one year of progressive experience in facility operations or customer service
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, two (2) years of college courses or a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in facility operations or customer service will be considered
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record throughout employment
- Must possess or be able to obtain a CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate within ninety (90) days of employment
Preferred :- Experience in recreation facilities
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
Physical Requirements Work requires sufficient physical stamina and strength to:
- Frequently sit, stand, and walk through a multilevel high-use public facility; may run to address an emergency situation
- Occasionally squat, bend, kneel, twist, and crawl to perform daily inspection of recreation facility; occasionally climb, balance, and reach over-head and below shoulder to assist staff in performing regular maintenance and inspection at elevated heights on ladders and Genie lifts
- Occasional light and firm grasp to use hand tools and other equipment; frequent fine manipulation to perform minor repair on recreational equipment
- Frequent near acuity to perform office tasks and projects; occasional far acuity to observe activity in facility for safety hazards or problems; constant hearing to interact with guests and staff, and recognize trouble outside of view
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds to assist in the set-up of table and chairs; occasional carrying of up to 50 pounds up to 100 feet to stock supplies, equipment; occasional pushing and/or pulling of up to 50 pounds to assist in moving equipment and supplies around facility for set up

WORKING CONDITIONS Work is constantly performed indoors with occasional outdoor activity to supervise scheduled recreational activities and events. Indoor and outdoor work is performed in a high public use, multilevel recreation facility where loud noise and multiple events and activities at one time may cause a distraction. Ability to work under stress from demanding deadlines, public contact, and changing priorities and conditions.
