    About the Position:

    The Office of Undergraduate Academic Programs facilitates the planning and coordination of academic curriculum and programs for undergraduate education and general education in accordance with system-wide and university policies. This office ensures the quality of curriculum and academic programs provide a transformative learning experience for all Titans. This office facilitates and responds to requests for new curriculum and curricular changes. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Faculty Development Center Administrative Support (Administrative Support Assistant II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

    The Faculty Development Center Administrative Support provides essential clerical support and coordination for faculty development programs and activities. The Faculty Development Center Administrative Support will be working closely with the Faculty Development Center Coordinator and the Director to facilitate the smooth operation of the center. This rolw is ideal for individuals who are organized, adept at multitasking and enjoy supporting educational environments. Provides general clerical support to enhance the operations of the Faculty Development Center. Greets guests, respond to inquiries and provide information and assistance as needed. Manages incoming phone calls, screens, and directs them appropriately. Handles the receipt, review, and distribution of incoming mail. Maintains both digital and physical filing systems. Assists in the setup and signage for both physical and virtual meeting rooms. Coordinates meeting communications, including locations and confirmations to participants. Supports the creation and logging of course information and track completions. Contribute to the creation of the digital Faculty Development Center weekly newsletter. Maintains the Director’s appointment calendar and schedules appointments and meetings. Assists in scheduling and minute-taking for meetings involving faculty coordinators. Coordinates the scheduling of classes, meeting rooms, and information posting in the employee training center. Leads and directs the daily activities of student assistants. Ensures timely completion of tasks and delivery of materials to other campus constituents. Manage schedules and track attendance of student assistants. Other duties as assigned.

    Essential Qualifications

    High School diploma or the equivalent and three years of experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, practices, and equipment. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling with demonstrated competence in effectively presenting standard information in writing. Ability to learn, interpret independently, apply, and identify deviations from a variety of complex policies and procedures. Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions. Ability to perform arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking and comparing data. Ability to work on the front line, with a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills. Demonstrated competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions. Basic typing and keyboarding skills.

    A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in direct interactions with faculty and staff in a support services office, either at the community college or university level. Ability to follow plans of action with minimal or moderate supervision. Multiple years of experience in support services office and/or an academic environment.
