    The Position

    Bargaining Unit: Local 21 - Supervisory Management

    Why join the Department of Information Technology (DoIT)?
    The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) supports a wide variety of IT installations throughout the County. We provide networking services, communications, security, hardware support, webservices, application support, and development.

    This specific position supports the Oracle PeopleSoft HR and Payroll applications. It involves day to day production support, application development, modifications, and upgrade support. ISPA IV positions are expected to be subject matter experts on a range of PeopleSoft tools and technologies. This is not an offsite/remote position although DoIT offers a telecommute/remote work policy and has a generous training allowance.

    When assigned to DoIT we are looking for someone who is:
    • An expert in PeopleSoft HCM modules (HR, Benefits and Payroll) accompanied by strong PeopleSoft technical skills
    • An expert in all PeopleTools and related technologies including PeopleCode, SQR, Application Engine, Component Interface, BI publisher, Query manager, PeopleSoft security, Oracle SQL+/SQL developer, etc.
    • Able to develop enhancements, modifications, reports, and interfaces using best practices and SDLC methodologies
    • Able to provide technical support and maintenance including issue resolution, application enhancements, software updates, testing and code migrations

    What you will typically be responsible for when assigned to DoIT:
    • Supporting PeopleSoft HR, Benefits, and Payroll and other HCM modules
    • Developing application enhancements and reports, troubleshooting system issues, and providing solutions using PeopleTools and related technologies
    • Applying PeopleSoft PUM updates, Tax updates, patches, and bug fixes as per schedule
    • Performing quality assurance, testing, and code migration
    • Leading and directing other information systems staff

    The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months and may be used by other departments.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    Possession of a bachelor degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in computer science or information processing or closely related field.

    Experience:
    Four (4) years of full-time or its equivalent experience performing software applications programming and/or systems analysis, at least one year of which must have included programming responsibility.

    Substitution for Education:
    Additional-qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of four (4) years.

    Desirable Qualifications (depending on assignment):
    • Experience with ERP Systems like Workday, UKG, Microsoft, Oracle, or other systems software
    • Experience within the human services field
    • Experience with Kronos/UKG, Web service operations, SFTP and interfaces
    • Project management experience
    • Functional knowledge in PeopleSoft HR and Payroll
    • Experience in PeopleSoft version 9.2
