    An Administrative Technician job is available with The City of Fort Worth Code Compliance - Building Standards Division.

    The Building Standards Division ensures that buildings, multifamily properties and boarding homes meet the standards and specifications established in the City’s building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical codes.

    The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, and possess the ability to coordinate and provide support in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment. A strong focus on organization, time management, customer service, teamwork, and adaptability are essential. This position requires the ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision, demonstrating a strong sense of accountability and effective self-management.
    • This is a Full-Time position
    • Work Schedule is Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
    • You will be required to attend and represent title work completed for Municipal Court and Building Standards Division Cases.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Associate Degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Office Administration, or related field
    • and two (2) years of clerical and administrative experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in Peoplesoft Financial System, iNovah, and Avanti Heat.
    • Experience with Title Investigation of real property
    • Experience in municipal government administrative roles
    • Experience in direct interaction with municipal boards and commissions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Online and Desktop and Adobe Microsoft Word - creating, complex editing, mail merge, Microsoft Excel - filtering, extracting, analyzing, and organizing data and numbers for accurate and effective reporting, with expertise in utilizing formulas such as VLOOKUP, Microsoft Outlook - creating, manage, tracking of reminders, emails, calendars, Adobe Acrobat - combining, editing, extracting, creating PDF documents and forms, SharePoint - managing document libraries, organizing and maintaining site content, creating workflows, and collaborating with teams to ensure seamless information sharing and effective project management

    The Administrative Technician job responsibilities include:
    • Title Research: Examine titles for deed ownership, lienholders, and mortgagees of real property; search, analyze, and evaluate real estate and other public records.
    • Database Management: Manage and track information across multiple databases to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
    • Payment Processing: Process payments and maintain accurate financial records.
    • Research and Reporting: Assist with researching, data tracking, reporting, and monitoring the status and flow of internal processes.
    • Correspondence and Deadlines: Draft correspondence and process time-sensitive assignments with strict legal deadlines.
    • Customer Service: Respond to and resolve inquiries from internal customers and citizens or direct them to the appropriate personnel.
    • Support Duties: Provide staff support to the Building Standards Division, including serving as a backup for various staff positions in their absence.
    • Clerical and Administrative Tasks: Perform a wide variety of clerical, fiscal, and administrative tasks to support staff and management personnel in the assigned area of responsibility.
    • Performs Other duties as required.

    Medical Program

    Vacation

    Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually
    6 months), employees may take time off for rest, relaxation, vacation, illness, religious observances, and personal business.

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
