Aging and Disability Senior Physician - Pediatrician
(Part-Time)
Per Hour $105.35
The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS) is currently
accepting resumes for a part-time Senior Physician - Pediatrician position (20.24 hours per week) in Las Vegas.
At ADSD, we foster innovative thinking, teamwork, and a positive work environment. Our mission is to
provide high-quality, comprehensive support services across the lifespan, allowing Nevada's elders, children,
and adults with disabilities or special health care needs to live independent, meaningful, and dignified lives.
Early Intervention Services
We serve children ages 0-3 with developmental delays and disabilities eligible for Part C services under IDEA
Part C. We also support children and families with diagnostics, including autism. Children enrolled in early
intervention (EI) are entitled to medical services under CFR 303.13 of IDEA Part C.
Position Description:
Direct Services - The Pediatrician will complete physical evaluations of children, recommend appropriate
additional services, and discuss with the family the child's developmental functioning, nutrition consultations,
assessment results, recommendations, and outcomes. They will write comprehensive reports including test
results, clinical observations, findings, recommendations, and services provided in client charts (both physical
and electronic). The Pediatrician will also facilitate all activities within Early Intervention services and
discipline-specific software programs.
Autism Diagnostics - The Pediatrician may conduct diagnostic appointments for children on the autism
spectrum. Our comprehensive team conducts a battery of assessments, including audio evaluations and the
Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). The Pediatrician, along with team members, will discuss
and explain a synopsis of all assessments to the family, formalizing the diagnosis during the process.
Additionally, a qualified staff member will attend each appointment with the family to ensure continuity and
support.
Teaching - Pediatric residents from the University of Nevada, Reno, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
School of Medicine rotate through NEIS for their developmental and behavioral rotation. This position supports
collaboration with the university and residents to strengthen the knowledge base of future first-line
practitioners. The Pediatrician will also offer training sessions to staff and/or parents 1-2 times per year on
relevant topics.

participating in statewide commissions or coalitions to support stakeholder needs and state initiatives.
Additional Duties: Maintain all records, both physical and electronic, in the agency-approved file format.
Ensure that files are kept in a confidential and secure manner, complying with state laws, federal regulations,
the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy
Act (FERPA), and applicable policies. Protect health-related information in accordance with federal, state,
department, and division regulations and policies. Immediately report any potential HIPAA violations following
established policies and procedures.
Enroll, credential, and bill insurance as appropriate and in accordance with IDEA Part C regulations, state law,
and applicable policies and procedures.
Must have reliable transportation and maintain a valid Nevada driver's license to travel.
Future Opportunities - As the State of Nevada continues to redefine efficiencies and effective public health
services, there are opportunities for visionary leadership to help pave the way. These may include developing a
single point of entry process for children with special health care needs who are eligible for one or multiple
state programs and assisting in redefining roles and relationships to better serve children and families through
the merging of separate agencies.
This could help reduce duplication of services and ease navigation frustrations for families dealing with
multiple agencies.
