Job Description: Performs work in coordinating Harry P. Leu Gardens digital media and marketing communications efforts under the direction of the Events Coordinator. Assists in creating content across the Gardens digital media platforms and collaborates with internal and hired creative and technical teams to provide innovative digital communications across all platforms that connect visitors and members to Harry P. Leu Gardens. Supports digital projects including website updates, email campaigns, and social media. Maintains, monitors, and optimizes social media channels daily, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Drives engagement with the Gardens content across channels, including the website and social media. Works closely with key stakeholders and other departments at the Gardens to implement communications and deliver Gardens information about events, programs, horticulture, and daily activities via social and digital technologies. Assists in producing marketing collateral. Responsible for keeping up to date with emerging social media platforms and opportunities. Work requires the ability to work alone and as a member of a team. Work performed is reviewed while in progress and through results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience developing and administering promotional/marketing programs using social media sites; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Experience in marketing, events, journalism, and copywriting preferred. Bilingual ability is a plus.
Duties:
• Create engaging and high-quality content for social media platforms, blogs, websites, newsletters, etc.
• Maintain schedule of social media posts, videos, ad placements, blogs, and responses.
• Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency with the Gardens brand voice, image, and messaging.
• Monitor social media channels for interactions, comments, messages, and respond promptly and appropriately.
• Assist in the planning and execution of digital marketing advertising campaigns.
• Create and/or coordinate the creation of graphic design of digital media/marketing materials.
• Track, analyze, report on digital media performance using analytics tools. Recommend improvements.
• Conduct market research to inform strategies and opportunities for engagement, and understand best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies in digital and social media marketing.
• Assist in managing and organizing the Gardens digital assets library.
• Assist in the coordination of meetings, programs, special events, photography, videography, and other event and administrative activities at the Gardens as needed.
THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.
