    THE POSITION
    Are you interested in a career in city/town management and looking for your first opportunity to experience how that may look? We are excited to announce a Management Internship opening with the Town of Prescott Valley for the Summer of 2025. This is a paid position and offers the opportunity to gain practical work experience in planning, organizing, evaluating and participating in various Town meetings, events and field work.     Examples of Duties

    In this position you will:
    • Complete a full rotation through each department, spending time with department leaders and team members out in the field.
    • Act as a lead managing a project or two with the final project to be designing a booth for the annual League of Arizona Cities and Towns festival.
    • Learn how a municipality runs on a day-to-day basis and what skills are needed to be successful in a leadership position.

    Typical Qualification

    Requirements:
    • Currently enrolled MPA or MPP student seeking to serve in local government management.
    • Available for onsite completion of work. Flexible scheduling is a possibility.
    • A passion for serving the community and making a difference and a genuine interest in the government operations/public service field.
    • A critical thinker with strong organizational and technology skills, able to operate a variety of different platforms.
    • Ability to pass a complete background and possession of a valid Arizona driver's license.
    • Ability to demonstrate our core values including Integrity, Respect, Service Excellence, Teamwork and Fun.

    Compensation:

    The salary is $15-$17/hour. This position requires 40 hours per week. This Internship will start the beginning of June and conclude prior to student's school start date.

    Seasonal employees are entitled to earn paid time off and accrue a minimum of 1 hour of earned general leave for every 30 hours worked and can accrue to a maximum of 40 hours per year.
