    Requirements

    MOS code: 4573 (Marines)

    Education and Experience : Associates degree or higher in media production, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in audio-visual production, to include the use of editing tools software, live TV broadcasting equipment and master control operations, photography, photo-journalism, news and animation graphics or public relations.

    License and Certificates: Require a Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state

    General Purpose

    Under general direction, perform a variety of technical and administrative duties involved in the planning, design, coordination, and production of various audio-visual media-related activities associated with the City of El Paso's cable television channel, including but not limited to; special events, presentations, public affairs programs, and news conferences. Such media includes live and taped video productions and photographs.

    Typical Duties

    Involve the application of professional knowledge and personal judgment in a wide range of media production. The focus will be on particular media formats, such as video productions at the City's government access cable station, news graphics, or photography. Work is reviewed by the Strategic Communications Director and respective departments.
    Support efforts of all City departments to enhance community knowledge of the City by providing services associated with production of audio-visual media events, or other public outreach efforts.

    Coordinate and implement the City's cable television government channel. Produce TV public service announcements, news magazine, training and informational videos.

    Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline the work processes.

    Assist with planning and coordinating broadcasts for all recorded and live audio-visual productions that will air on the City's government access cable station.

    Assist Communications staff and volunteers to provide timely customer service and adhere to policies and procedures for providing efficient, safe and respectful services.
