    Minimum Experience Requirements:

    This position is open to all qualified candidates currently employed by the City of Los Angeles. Candidates must meet the latest bulletin requirements for Chief Management Analyst by the application deadline.

    1. Two years of full-time paid professional experience with the City of Los Angeles

    in a position at the level of a Senior Management Analyst II, Senior Personnel

    Analyst II, Senior Administrative Analyst II, or Senior Benefits Analyst II.

    Candidates applying for a transfer opportunity must currently be full-time, regular

    appointment as Chief Management Analyst with the City of Los Angeles. Emergency appointments will be contingent on approval by the Personnel Department.

    Summary of Duties:

    The Chief Management Analyst position in the Bureau of Engineering (BOE) will oversee the new Financial Management Division (FMD) and will report to the Financial Management and Data Analytics (FMDA) Program Chief Financial Officer to carry out the financial management, planning, and analysis functions on a bureau-wide basis. The FMD Chief Management Analyst will also oversee the annual development of the departmental proposed budget and its submission to the Mayor and Office of the City Administrative Officer (CAO). With an operating budget exceeding $120M for FY 2024-25, and with more than $6.0B in capital projects in the BOE’s current portfolio, the FMD Chief Management Analyst is critical to the BOE and project finances. The FMD Chief Management Analyst will also ensure the annual BOE Proposed Budget is in compliance with the Mayor’s priorities and adheres to the CAO’s budgetary instructions. The FMD Chief Management Analyst will also be a primary liaison with the BOE’s assigned CAO budget analyst and will be required to provide timely responses to budget-related inquiries via email, telephone, or other correspondence.
