Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Procurement Services Division, located at 414 E 12th St.
Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, and supervises the City's central procurement activities for the commodity and services procurements.
- Consolidates the needs of departments by standardizing supplies, materials, services, and equipment.
- Handles multiple demands by setting priorities, allocating time effectively, and working in a team and customer focused environment.
- Follows procedures for commodity, services and technology procurements.
- Serves as the central point of contact for City departments, monitors and analyzes supplier performance, and resolves issues.
- Answers special correspondence on procurement matters and handles special assignments and issues within the division.
- Attends solicitation meetings, such as pre-proposal conferences and bid openings, facilitates the solicitation process for evaluation teams, maintains pertinent information for the solicitation files.
- Confers with suppliers regarding products and materials, equipment, supplies, general and professional services, technology services, IT hardware and IT software, pricing, and trades.
- Competitively solicits request for proposals, request for information, invitation for bid, design/procure/install proposals for City departments which includes, researching, receiving and analyzing specifications and requirements, as well as researching and recommending sources for purchase.
- Remains up to date on trends, best procurement practices, and research. Has a focus on technology procurement.
- Researches and utilizes cooperative agreements.
- Acts as a lead worker and performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 2 years of progressively responsible procurement experience at the level of Procurement Officer; OR an accredited Associate's degree and 4 years progressively responsible procurement experience at the level of Procurement Officer; OR An equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
