This position is part of a flexibly staffed series and may be filled at either the Community Services Officer I level or the Community Services Officer II level. Candidates that are interested in applying for both of these levels, must submit an application for each opening in order to be considered. The Brentwood Police Department is seeking highly motivated individuals who are eager to work in a city and department that prides itself on professionalism and community support. This position provides a wide variety of non-sworn support services for the Police Department operations and services including in the areas of parking enforcement, vehicle abatement, prisoner booking and transportation, responding to assigned calls for service, writing reports, fingerprinting, and narcotic offender/sex offender registrations.

Qualifications Education and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training: - Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
Experience: - One year of work experience that demonstrates a general aptitude for working with the public in a multi-task environment.
License or Certificate: - Possession of a valid driver's license

The examination process will consist of: - Review of applications for completion, minimum qualifications for the position, and to ensure all materials have been submitted, if applicable.
- Written Exam - Applicants possessing these requirements will be invited to take the written test. The examination will cover elements of the knowledge and abilities identified in the job description. Tentatively scheduled to take place on February 20, 2025.
All applicants that pass the examination process will be placed on the eligible list which is good for at least 6 months and may be extended up to an additional 18 months. This eligible list will be used by the City of Brentwood to fill all current and future openings in this classification as long as the list is active.
