The selected candidate will coordinate budget development activities and special projects; perform a variety of professional, analytical, financial, management, and/or other administrative duties in providing responsible staff support; prepare PowerPoint presentations and disseminate information through attendance and participation in Finance Committee meetings and City Council workshops and meetings; review, analyze and forecast citywide General Fund revenues including Transient Occupancy Taxes, Sales and Use Taxes, Property Taxes and other miscellaneous revenues; and research and analyze a variety of areas including personnel budgeting, internal service funds, user fees, cost allocation, financial planning, financial operations, and operations of different work processes. The ideal candidate will have experience with budget administration in a governmental setting, excellent oral and written communication skills, polished interpersonal skills, outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, a service orientation, a positive attitude, and demonstrate strong ethics and integrity.
SELECTION COMPONENTS: - Application Evaluation: Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis with the first review date of January 23, 2025, OR until 150 applications are received, whichever occurs first . Candidates are required to submit a resume in order for the application package to be considered complete. The recruitment will remain open until the position is filled.
- Virtual Interview: Those candidates deemed most qualified as reflected in their application will be invited to a virtual interview tentatively scheduled for February 26, 2025. Passing applicants will be placed on an eligibility list that may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

SCHEDULE: - This position is able to work a 5/40 or 9/80 schedule.
CalPERS: - The City offers an excellent benefit package and membership in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). The retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS and the employee is required to contribute 11.5% of pay toward the retirement benefit.

Experience & Education and License/CertificateA combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible professional-level administrative staff experience. Experience in budget, payroll, accounting or related field is desirable.
Education: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, accounting, public administration or related field.
License/Certificate : Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record may be required.
