About the Position:
The Student Academic Services Unit provides activities and services which actively support California State University, Fullerton's mission by promoting the development of the whole student - academically, intellectually, and socially. We strive to create an environment where all students can succeed. The department coordinates the services of several student programs, many of which give particular attention to the education needs of low-income disadvantaged college students to ensure that they can successfully complete their college education. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Educational Opportunity Program Student Center Coordinator (Student Services Professional IB). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under general supervision, the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Student Center Coordinator (Student Services Professional IB) will provide assistance to the day-to-day operations of the EOP student center and is responsible for providing oversight of the space, student assistant schedules, and maintaining an environment that is inclusive and respectful of all groups. In addition, the EOP Student Center Coordinator will design and implement workshops, events and activities that help promote higher education, student retention initiatives to help develop and support first-generation students.
The EOP Student Center Coordinator must be able to effectively work with first-generation, low-income students and have knowledge of various campus and community-based services and resources available to this population. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or a job-related field plus one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level. Specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Equivalent amounts of job-related, graduate level education may be substituted for the required experience. Working knowledge of the methods and problems of organization and program management. Working knowledge of research techniques, interview techniques, and the principles of individual and group behavior. Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to present clear and concise information orally and in written reports. Ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures and activities and the overall organization. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
