    The Position

    Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

    The Governor's Finance Office is recruiting for a Management Analyst 4 to join the Budget Division located in Carson City. The incumbent will monitor and review complex grants, determine eligibility, and recommend approval or modifications to funding requests based on US Treasury Guidance and the American Rescue Plan Act framework; coordinate with agencies and entities to ensure continued compliance with guidance; assist in the preparation, monitoring, and maintenance of the American Rescue Plan budget; assist in reviewing, writing, and revising work programs; track and project usage of funds to ensure all funds are spent within the required timeframes; audit requests from state agencies and entities to ensure requests are complete and comply with state and federal guidelines; and review work programs and approve payment documents. The incumbent may also be required to produce special reports and assist with policy, procedure, and manual updates.

    To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and six years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment. This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.     The presence of Nevada's earliest inhabitants, beginning about 12,400 years ago, is marked by many petroglyphs and archaeological sites. Baskets, decoys, and ingenious traps are evidence of the resourcefulness of these early people in a harsh and arid environment.

On October 31, 1864, President Lincoln proclaimed Nevada's admission to the Union as the 36th state. The State's first elected Governor, Henry Blasdel, took office on December 5, 1864.

    Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
