    The Position

    Auditors conduct audits on accounts, records, activities, operations and/or internal controls of individuals, business organizations, State agencies or other government jurisdictions subject to State taxation or regulation to ensure compliance with State and federal rules and regulations and legal requirements and/or proper safeguarding of agency funds.

    The Auditor II for the Ombudsman's Office located in Las Vegas is responsible for reviewing and auditing associations and assisting the Compliance Investigators with financial investigations. Audits are conducted on accounts, records, activities, operations, and internal controls of the associations. The incumbent is required to identify associations requiring reviews or audits to ensure compliance with NRS/NAC 116, 116A, & 116B regarding annual registrations; examine referred enforcement cases related to financial records and assess documentation to identify compliance with statutes and regulations; and prepare and present oral or written reports to the Ombudsman, Administrator, and the Commission. The incumbent is also required to testify before the Commission for Common-Interest Communities and Condominium Hotels. This incumbent will supervise 5 full time employees in various positions.

    To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which included 6 college credits in beginning accounting and/or auditing, and one year of professional level auditing or accounting experience involving analyzing financial information and making recommendations based upon that analysis; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education, supplemented by 6 college credits in beginning accounting and/or auditing and three years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as an Auditor I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above, which must have included 6 college credits in beginning accounting and/or auditing. Special Notes Applicants must attach a copy of their college or university transcripts indicating successful completion of required credits in accounting and/or auditing. Special Requirements A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation.     The presence of Nevada's earliest inhabitants, beginning about 12,400 years ago, is marked by many petroglyphs and archaeological sites. Baskets, decoys, and ingenious traps are evidence of the resourcefulness of these early people in a harsh and arid environment.

On October 31, 1864, President Lincoln proclaimed Nevada's admission to the Union as the 36th state. The State's first elected Governor, Henry Blasdel, took office on December 5, 1864.

    Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
